As part of my Project Koru lifestyle change, and some extra free time in the evenings, I decided to take the dive into Tim Ferriss’ latest book. You may remember him from his smash bestseller, The 4-Hour Workweek. That one, I absolutely loved.
I am really liking what I read here so far. Ferriss blows holes in the “conventional wisdom” of diet and exercise beliefs. He takes a look at weight loss and gain from a thermogenic angle. In short, some type of calories produce more heat than others and thus raise your body’s basal metabolic rate (BMR.) The net result is that weight loss can vary wildly ingesting the same amount of calories of different type (fat, protein or carbohydrate.)
While I am not sure I can swing all the lentils he suggests in the diet (I’m not even sure what a lentil really is – haha,) but there is a lot about the book that I can make a part of my routine. Things like the simple act of eating within 30 minutes of waking, can increase your weight loss. I’ll let you know.
