Another 100 Word Challenge

Posted by Chris Doelle on October 22nd, 2006 under Writing

Hey gang, once again I am taking part in the 100 Word Story Challenge put on by Laurence Simon over at the IFOC Podcast. Do me a big favor and head over there - listen to all the cool entries - and then please vote for mine as the best one. (…assuming you like mine best… and that is of course, assuming that you like puppies, world peace, and don’t like bad people.)

Its catch-up time and time for me to hand out some props, some get-well wishes, a criticism and yes - I even saved the planet this weekend. Oh yeah - some great tunes too!

026 - 100 Word Story Friday

Posted by Chris Doelle on July 29th, 2005 under 100 Word Stories, My Pets, Podcast, Writing

This is the first of what I intend to be a series of 100-Word Stories. The inspiration to include them in both audio and written format comes from Laurence Simon. I had a great time writing my first one and hope to produce many more. Here is the story:

Panting heavily, Lou bounces back and forth between the front and back seats.

Keep it at 100 buddy! (I did)

Laurence Simon’s podcast 100 Word Stories - IFOC Podcast has inspired me. The idea of 100 Word stories is not new, it has been used as a writing tool for centuries. The need to be concise, yet still get your point across is paramount in such short pieces. What is new however, is the act of podcasting those stories. To that end, I am going to do my own 100 word story podcast once a week. I think I will try them on Friday or Saturday so as to kick off the weekend with some fun. Thanks for the inspiration!

Houston Chronicle Article

Posted by Chris Doelle on June 3rd, 2005 under Blogging, Writing

I was interviewed a couple weeks back by the Houston Chronicle and the article is now out.

The online version is available at: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/tech/news/3206092

I will try to pick up a hard copy of the article for posterity. I think it came out Wednesday in the ThisWeek section - if anyone has one… please save it for me :)

I guess you can see that I have settled on the name:

Riding with the window down…

it covers both my positive attitude about most things and my affinity to dogs. I want to thank everyone that both left comments on the blog and sent me emails with their recommendations. It was invaluable…

I have put a small explanation of the name to the right and a temporary picture. I intend to get a good shot of Lou “riding with the window down” to replace it eventually.
