It was very cool to see American, David Zabriskie take home the first stage win of the 2005 Tour (his first tour ever) and it was even cooler to see Lance PASS Jan Ullrich on the road (the first time Jan has ever been passed in a TdF timetrial.) While this tiny stage will mean very little over the course of the race, it has to have a psychological effect on Ullrich to have been blown away by Lance in the very first stage.

In the Tour de 1/10th as usual, I am in first place… just because the opening stage is so tiny. When I take my bonus miles I have a turned in a negative time of 1m 10s which leaves me 22m 1s ahead of the pack. (Don’t worry – I will be losing hours as the lengths get longer) For the time being the yellow jersey of the Tour de 1/10th is on my back!!
