In light of an email from Adam Curry taking umbrage with something I said in the last podcast, I wanted to go ahead and print a retraction.
AC did not liken the net neutrality issue to first class travel subsidizing coach flights on airlines. That association was entirely my own and based on his statement that those who pay more on the internet will have faster service, and his statement that his usage of first class flights subsidizes coach flights. He never put the two together in a sentence, it was I who connected those dots.
In the immortal words of Rodney King… “Can’t we all get along?”
“based on his statement that those who pay more on the internet will have faster service, and his statement that his usage of first class flights subsidizes coach flights.”
I think you are being a bit too fair, the dots you connected were logical based on Curry’s rep for saying what he means without connecting all the dots for his intended audience. He does this all the time. Besides, he’s 100% wrong (as usual) that first class flights subsidize coach flights. How could 5-10% of the seating possibly supplement the revenue made on 85-90% of the plane. Just the type of thing an elitist wanna-be-celeb pod-nobody like Curry would say.
He’s also on the wrong side of net neutrality, no suprise at all either when you look at inclination to be wrong on almost every issue he speaks on.
I’m still shocked that people even listen to the DSC with the massive ammount of good content to be had through both podcasting and satelite media.
Great to hear from ya Chris- keep on fightin’ the good fight and as Tom Petty would say… “Don’t back down…”
