During my Sunday visit to the dog park with Lou, I noticed that my head was feeling a little stuffed up… I thought nothing of it and went on with my day. While prepping for the PMC Top 10, my head started to hurt so I decided to take a quick break. I slept for about an hour.
After getting the PMC Top 10 compiled and starting to work on the script, I saw it was about time to head out to Houston Roller Derby. I had told Kymberlie McGuire and my friend Tony D. that I was going and figured maybe I would feel better after.
This league skates on a flat track as opposed to the banked one you might have seen on the A&E show, Rollergirls. It was my first time to attend and although the matches were a lot of fun, the venue left a lot to be desired. The floor seating was not very comfortable and the lighting was horrible. You could only see the far side of the track in full light because of the configuration. By the second match, Tony and I moved up the balcony where the lighting was better and the seats more comfortable. If it hadn’t been for my then-pounding headache, we would have stayed, but left after two matches.
I came home, blew off the PMC, went to bed and crashed until about 7:30 this morning.
The good news is that I am staying in bed most of the day (this is only the third time I got out of bed to read email, twitter, post in the blog etc.) I will have this thing licked by tomorrow morning and back to my candle-at-both-ends, eighteen-hour workdays in no time.
