I am a big fan of Malcolm Gladwell.  Several of his books – Outliers, Blink and The Tipping Point – are on my “must read” list.  When I saw his latest, David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants, I was ready for another great read.

While I really did like the book, it was NOT what I expected.  This book is full of great information backing up the assertion that the “little guy” actually has an above average chance of being the larger opponent.  It is well written.  It is full of insightful research.  It is entertaining.  It is inspirational.

The only thing I found a little odd about it  was how it seemed to ramble off in strange directions.  Sure, the ramblings helped tell the big story, but it sometimes felt like one of those guys that goes off on some tangent while telling you a story.  You have often forgot what you were talking about by the time he brings it back to the main point.

Read this book if you want to be inspired to tackling something that seems overwhelming.  Read this book if you enjoy information about what motivates people.  Read this book if you like Gladwell’s style of writing.  Read this book for the business and personal application.  Read this book because you will be more knowledgeable after.  Read this book.
