This installment of Real Men Cook is about that ultimate “guy food” – chicken wings. Whether it is for SuperBowl snacking or just digging into some messy finger food, chicken wings fit the bill.
I’ve been wanting to make some wings for awhile and with all the women folk out of town, it was a perfect time for guy food with the boys. The goal? Spicy Ranch wings and Spicy BBQ wings. Let’s get started.
I’m not one to follow recipes, just goals. I did write down my steps this time so I could tell the story.
Start with wings – thawed.
To make Spicy Ranch, I used the following:
- 3 tablespoons Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing mix
- 3 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
- 4 teaspoons cayenne pepper
- 3/4 cup olive oil.
1- preheat oven to 400 degrees
2- Line cookie sheet with tun foil and spray with nonstick spray
3- Mix all the dry ingredients in mixing bowl
4- add olive oil and mix
5- coat pieces individually and arrange on cookie sheet
I didn’t really say much about the BBQ ones cause it is just Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauces – no real prep.
6- Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking so they do not overcook
As you can see, they came out excellent. The only negative was that the brand I bought had a lot of fat on them. I will look for a better selection next time around.
