As you can see, my trend of reading things other than business books continues with American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History by Chris Kyle. This is actually a really good book.  I started reading this just after finishing the two by Marcus Luttrell and at first thought it was just a weaker version of those.  A few chapters in and this is every bit as good as those.

Chris Kyle is quite a bit different than Marcus Luttrell and although not nearly as decorated, every bit as heroic.  The stories of his in-country encounters are intense and he was an excellent story teller.

The book reads like a well-written personal journal and brings you inside Kyle’s head as he faces life and death decisions as well as the day-to-day struggles of being a Navy SEAL in combat.

In related news, it appears that Clint Eastwood is directing the movie, American Sniper starring Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle.  It should hit theaters in 2015 and you can bet I will be there.
