the-10x-rule grant cardoneGrant Cardone’s book,  The 10X Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure is one of those books.  You know the kind… rah, rah, anyone can be rich…. rah, rah, you just have to work etc.  There are times when I really dig those kind of books.  This was one.

It all boils down to a simple rule… if you are willing to work 10 times harder than they guy next to you, you will get 10 times the reward.

Back when I was a teenager learning about the world, this kind of thinking was common.  Unfortunately today, it is rare.  Not only do people do “just enough to get by,” they sometimes don’t do that.  To my way of thinking, that has always been good news to me.

While the competition is having a latte and planning their next weekend getaway, the 10Xers of the world are busting it.

Cardone comes across as a typical rah, rah salesman type but if you can get past that, the lessons hidden in the hype are solid. The biggest lesson has to be “thinking big.”  This is one of my weakest areas so I devour anything I find on the subject.

Overall, this is a good read full of useful information and yes, motivation.
