It was a heck of a year. Tons of turmoil in the ol’ personal life. Tons of ups and downs in the family scene. The one thing I could count on throughout it all was Texas high school football. From coaching clinics in January and February to camps in March and April. From 7 on 7 tournaments that culminated in the state championships in July to the two-a-days in August. All that was before one game was played. From the end of August to the end of December, we are talking about 1500+ teams playing games every week on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
In the end, 24 teams show up for four days to fight over 12 state championship trophies. It was football from early morning until late in the evening and it was a blast!
