I haven’t been super active on the blog. Prior to December of last year, I had a total of 13 posts for the year. In December I had 10 and thus far in January, I’ve averaged one a day. So why the uptick?
I’ve mainly started writing more because I decided to make it more of a priority. I started paying attention to how I acted on days when I wrote versus days when I didn’t and noticed that starting off the day with a post helps get me doing positive things.
That isn’t to say I was doing negative things when not writing, but I just noticed that I am more productive when I give my mind some creative time. I firmly believe I would have the same result if I had been painting, drawing, woodworking… anything creative.
The other side benefit is that when I am writing, I feel a draw to track things (the minimalism thing – books I’ve read – movies I saw etc.) and when I track things I get caught up in a little game with myself of not wanting to stop.
It may be random weirdness, but it gets me writing.
What can you expect? You can expect movie and TV reviews, me tracking things that I think will make me a better person, and an occasional deep dive into something that has been rattling around in my head.
I hope you enjoy and I hope you will periodically give me some feedback and let me know your thoughts.
