I have to thank my friend Cash Matthews for being the inspiration for my 90 Day Blitz. Alright, I’d been planning to do some public goal-setting anyway but when Cash came up with his 90 Day Blitz idea on Facebook and invited me to participate, I knew it was time. It was the inspiration to stop thinking about it and start doing it.
I am a big believer in SMART goals because when goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Based they are achievable.
First, let’s break down what my goals are:
Weight: 185 lbs
Wealth: 100 (on my personal scale of 1-100)
Goal X: 100 (on my personal scale of 1-100)
Let’s take a look behind the numbers:
Weight: I am at 234 now and the goal is 185. This is a goal that I started on a couple weeks back. While losing 49 pounds can seem pretty daunting, it is something I have done before. Back in 2008-09, I dropped from 243 down to 190… 53 pounds that time.
Wealth: I am taking Cash’s lead on this one and rather than spelling out specific dollar amounts, I simply have a goal amount that I will call 100. On that scale, I am now at about 35. It isn’t about income so much as net worth/savings. I have always believed money is easy to make… much harder to keep.
Goal X: This is a private goal that I am just beginning. I may end up giving more detail about this one in the future, but wanted to get started first. I feel I am at a 10 on a scale of 1-00 with this one.
The goal that will be the easiest to track will be the weight goal but I think the others might prove interesting as well.
What are your goals?
