What do you do after then end? (Endgame) Well, you simply continue to tell the story. Spider-Man: Far From Home was a really good film that did just that.
It was a nice relief to not have the fate of humanity hanging in the balance of a finger snap. It was nice to just spend some lighthearted moments with the innocence of good teenagers. It was nice to see Tom Holland show why his is the best version of Spider-Man. It was nice to chuckle at a host of well-paced and fitting jokes. It was a good way to spend two hours.
I loved Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. He played it so well that even veterans of the original comics who knew about the character were caught off guard with this telling. I didn’t buy Zendaya as MJ – sorry, it just didn’t work for me. And although I have been very anti-Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury – he is starting to grow on me.
The tie-in with Endgame is an interesting way of eliminating loose ends while building cool story-lines.
Overall, despite being a Hulk and Iron Man guy growing up, the entire Spider-Man series of films is starting to grow on me – again, only the Tom Holland ones.
