Let me start by saying that I feel Tucker Carlson is part of the problem – that is simply to say that media is playing a HUGE role in what is happening to divide our nation. Also, the frequent tossing out of the word revolution is a perfect example of that yellow journalism.
That aside, I agree with most of what Carlson says in Ship of Fools: How a Selfish Ruling Class Is Bringing America to the Brink of Revolution. Sure, he could have been more middle-of-the-road in what he points out but I do agree most of the problems are coming from the left side. Okay, maybe not most of the problems – but at least the ones that scare me the most.
And that doesn’t mean that Carlson just jumps on liberals – he does point out that the Democrats should go back to being liberal and not whatever the heck they have become. Republicans too share a large amount of the blame for our current situation. What they both have in common and Carlson points out is that they both have determined they should be the elites. Their shared drive to be our ruling class is really what is jacking everything up.
This is a relatively quick read – it is fast-paced and will keep you interested. If you walk lock-step in line with one of the political ideologies that are at the extremes of our society however, you will find yourself angered and motivated to write off everything (even the good stuff) about this book. If you are not singing to either choir, you will find some good insight.
